Is there a way to run the.exe of a C# WinForms application as a script?
The application has a menu, a dialog, and a window. You run it, click a button, and it closes.
I want the.exe to stay open and only display the dialog/window, so I can interact with it without closing the program, just the way running a shell script would work.
Is there a way to do this? I tried running the.exe as a normal WinForms application, but you can't have a running application without a window. I also tried using the Process class, but the process starts but no window shows up.
The answer:
(Windowless).NET application
can be run as a script. That
means you can write a file that
contains commands to be executed
under the main application's
execution context, just like
starting a script inside a shell
does. The way this works is that the
main application gets a file
containing the commands to be
executed and creates a thread to run
those commands in the main
application's execution context.
